Submission Guidelines

Eligibility

This exhibit is open to artists living or working within a 25-mile radius of CCAC. All fine art disciplines including installation art are encouraged for submission. Only artists 18 and older may submit works. All works must be original in concept, design and execution.

ENTRY PROCEDURE for FINE ART

Artists may enter a maximum of five pieces of art for jury consideration. Digital images of the art must be submitted via email to ccacgoldenticket@gmail.com with “GOLDEN TICKET SUBMISSION” written in the subject line. Up to three images for each three-dimensional work will be accepted. No original art will be accepted for jury submission.

  • JPEG Images: Each JPEG image of art must be labeled as follows: artist’s first name initial, last name initial, underscore, and title of work. i.e. HB_The Lonely Tree.jpeg The jpeg image size must be appropriate for viewing on a computer monitor.
  • Word Document must be included containing contact information: the artist’s name, address, phone number (s), and email address. The same document must include a description for each piece: title, size, medium and price.
  • Entry fees are $35 for the first piece and $10 for each additional piece. Artists who complete the submittal process by the early bird deadline can subtract $10 from the total fee. Make checks payable to CCAC and mail to CCAC (P.O. Box 20041, Cincinnati, OH 45220) OR fees can be paid online. Before completing the transaction, type your name and “GOLDEN TICKET FEES” in the box provided for acknowledgment of gift.
  • The entry fee is non-refundable and is not tax deductible.

Entries submitted without fees or after the deadline will not be eligible.

Notification and Art Delivery

Once the jury process is complete you will be notified which art piece(s) were selected for exhibition. An approximate date of notification is listed on the schedule. Accepted art must be hand-delivered to CCAC during scheduled times. Identification labels must be securely attached to the back or bottom of the art with: artist’s name, title of art, medium, size, price, phone and email address.

Preparation of Accepted Art

Size and weight of work is limited to that which can be moved by one person. Any work that is hung must be no more than 20 pounds and appropriately framed or museum wrapped canvas. All art must be wired for hanging. No art with saw tooth hangers will be accepted. No work will be accepted with staples or nails visible on the edges.

Liability

All possible care will be taken of the entries, but the CCAC can assume no responsibility for damage or loss of works. Artists must insure their own works.

Sales

Artists are encouraged to offer their art for sale. Any work not priced will be marked “not for sale.” CCAC will retain 25% of the sale price.

ENTRY PROCEDURE for INSTALLATION ART

Artists may enter a maximum of three proposals of installations for jury consideration. Individual artists as well as teams are encouraged to submit artwork to be displayed during the month-long exhibition. Submissions are via email to ccacgoldenticket@gmail.com  with “GOLDEN TICKET SUBMISSION” written in the subject line. There are several interior spaces and one exterior space potentially available for installation pieces. Artists need to indicate desired space(s) in the proposal summary.

  • JPEG/PDF Images: Please include images of the proposed artwork. These graphics can take any form—hand drawing, CAD, Illustrator, photographed model, etc. Each image of art must be labeled as follows: artist’s first name initial, last name initial, underscore, and title of work. i.e. HB_The Lonely Tree.jpeg The jpeg image size must be appropriate for viewing on a computer monitor. Up to three pages of images for each installation proposal will be accepted.
  • Word Document must be included containing contact information: the artist’s name, address, phone number (s), and email address. The same document must include for each piece: title, size, medium and price. Files needs to be labeled: Contact_ArtistName.doc
  • Proposal Summary must be in a separate word or PDF file. It must include the title of the project, and a brief description (not more than 400 words): concept, construction/installation and de-installation plan. If your piece requires special instructions before it can be displayed each day, please outline the steps a gallery attendant would have to take each day.  File needs to be labeled with Project Title and the word summary.

Examples of Spaces Available:

  • Front Lobby. Installation must be free standing and self-supported. No anchors may be installed in the floor, ceiling, or walls. Installation must not obstruct emergency fire walking exit. Installation must allow free access around the piece. When submitting for this space, please keep in mind that this is a high traffic area with many unsupervised children and adults. Keep in mind public safety, interaction and durability during construction and while on display.
  • Outdoor Entrance. No anchors may be installed in the concrete. This installation must be able to withstand the outdoor elements for the duration of the show. Must not obstruct walking path on the sidewalk, or access to front doors.
  • Many other sites are potentially available. We encourage you, the artist, to come in and take a look around at the spaces in and around our space in Corryville.
