Listening Lab Workshop

You showed up to be inspired, moved, intrigued.

Instead, you’re making mental grocery lists.

Anyone who has ever attended a musical event has occasionally found themselves, well…. spacing out.

Listening to music can be an immersive, transformative experience. Or – it can be background music for your own thoughts.

By treating music listening as a form of meditation, the Listening Lab gives you tools drawn from mindfulness techniques and research in music cognition to help you find a deep listening experience.

This one-hour workshop will have a different mix of listening exercises – with a variety of musical genres – discussion, and guest speakers. You’re invited to attend as many workshops as you wish, in addition to our final concert on September 29 at Christ Church Cathedral.
