Food Vendors: Packhouse and Brown Bear Bakery

Community Partner: Every Child Succeeds

Many thanks to this week’s generous concert sponsor, Oxford Terrace & Hosea Avenue!

Join us for this week’s Wednesdays on the Green – free evening concerts every Wednesday at 7pm – featuring the musical stylings of Krystal Peterson & The Queen City Band! We’ve lined up musical performances from May 31 – August 9, and we can’t wait for a summer filled with music, dancing, hands-on art making for kids, picnics, summer treats and shared memories. Kick back in the grass, enjoy the show and meet some new friends on the beautiful lawn at CCAC.

August’s Community Partner is Every Child Succeeds – kindly bring donations of items for children ages 0-3 years of age (diapers, wipes, clothing, bath supplies, and toys) for Avondale, Corryville & Mt. Auburn families.

About the Band: Krystal Peterson

Krystal Peterson has been performing for many years seizing opportunities in music, television, and cinema. Most recently, Krystal has been connecting with audiences worldwide touring as lead singer of Grammy award-winning bassist Victor Wooten’s band, in addition she has launched her own collective, the Queen City Band. They are performing locally and abroad. Their newest record, Spell, recently making its debut, is characteristically soulful music with fiery female vocals, strong hooks, anthemic phrases, and contagious beats. Krystal sings deeply and straight from the heart. She has a passion for people, for her community, & for the integration of music into a multiplicity of avenues to better well-being and health for all.

“Deep in the heart of Cincinnati, there’s a soulful, funky jazz sextet with enough raw energy to burn the stylus off your turntables. Meet Krystal Peterson & The Queen City Band. While Peterson’s multi-octave vocal range is enough to get your blood pumping, she’s also backed by an entourage of talent from brass to beats. The Queen City Band could easily back Sharon Jones’ sultry chops or Black Joe Lewis’ garage funk licks, but Krystal Peterson has enough wind in her pipes to level every skyscraper in Cincinnati, so they’ve got their work cut out for them.” –David Hampton, Contributing Editor, Sly Vinyl
